THE EXPERIENCE

- EMILY & VINCE

“I can’t say enough great things about Michelle! From the minute I reached out to her to inquire about availability, she was so responsive and supportive. I was planning a micro wedding from across the country so Michelle immediately got a call on the books to talk about our plan and vision for the big day, and seven months later, she delivered! She couldn’t have captured our day more perfectly and she was such a dream to have around. She is so easy going and fun to work with and our photos are incredibly genuine. I would recommend Michelle to anyone and hope we can somehow work together again in the future!”

Michelle was truly the wedding photographer of our dreams!! From our very first chat with her, we knew she was the one! She is beyond talented and her timeless and fun style is just what we were looking for. She captured so many special moments during our day and we are so thankful! We LOVE our photos and are so happy Michelle photographed our wedding!!!

"Working with Michelle was a dream from start to finish. We chose her to be our wedding photographer and she also did our engagement photos. From the moment we met her we were comfortable and at ease, of which my husband and I learned real quickly is so very important. I was a busy Bride, planning my own wedding and she was on the ball, often a step ahead me - and boy, did I appreciate that. Her communication was prompt, thorough, and reassuring. She was my go-to person. And her work was stunning. She was so patient with us, fun, excited, and had such great energy which made the whole experience that much more special to us. Our only problem was having so many beautiful photos that it's been difficult to choose among them. After we were married I remember Michelle saying, "now you know who to call when you need your baby pictures taken!" I wouldn't have it any other way."

"Wow, beautiful pictures! We love them! You are such a great photographer!!! Thank you so much. And thank you for getting them ready so fast! We have looked at them several times and shared/shown our families. For them I think it was fantastic to see these pictures as they weren’t at Garrapata. They were just as impressed as we are by the pictures and your skills! I think the cover photo that I posted on Facebook actually got more likes than the picture of our newborn daughter got lol!"

"Wow, beautiful pictures!"

- NATALIE & MATTHEW

“Thank you for being part of our special day. We cannot thank you enough for all of your love, support, guidance and of course your beautiful work that you captured. What amazing and talented photographer you are and we are blessed to have had you be part of our wedding, capturing all of our special moments and creating memories and that we will cherish forever.”

Where are you based, and do you travel for weddings?

FAQ

Where are you based, and do you travel for weddings?
I am based in Monterey Bay, CA (right by the coast), and yes! I’d love to travel to your wedding or photoshoot destination. I can travel interstate or internationally. When you reach out, please tell me about your location (or even location ideas). I’d especially love to meet you in Mexico, Italy, or Greece!

How far in advance should we consider booking you?

As soon as possible! I often receive inquiries many months (sometimes years!) in advance, so the sooner you reach out, the greater the chances I’m available for your date. You can fill in your (planned) date in my contact form. If we decide to work together, I will block your dates off my calendar.

Should we do an engagement session?

The short answer: YES. I always recommend couples do an engagement session since that time is such a memorable event in your relationship, and the images from the shoot make great Save The Dates. Many couples even display their engagement photos on their wedding day!
Engagement sessions are also a great way for me to get to know you both as a couple. Check out some of my couples’ shoots here.

How would you describe your style?

I like to describe my photography style as timeless and chic. The images that come out of each shoot are professional, effortless, and approachable. Your photos will be a perfect collaboration between you and me, and we’ll get the chance to talk about your vision for your day, my expertise and recommendations, and how we can tie it all together well before your wedding.

My approach is to capture not only the big events of the day but also those special in-between moments, the raw emotions felt, and the small, often-overlooked details (a stolen glance, your Jimmy Choos in motion, the way your dress moves with you, his customized cufflinks). My editorial background gives me a unique angle to do this authentically and intimately.

What is your approach on the Day-Of?

As the photographer on your wedding day, I blend in and document without interrupting the flow. I do this by being well-prepared (I may bring assistants or second shooters, as needed), arriving early to set up, and mostly staying out of your way to let you enjoy the day. I will be present to capture all the key moments, people, and emotions, but I will do those things unobtrusively.

I’m not comfortable in front of the camera… What do you suggest?

This is a concern I hear a lot, and I want you to know I’ve got you. Since most of the photos I take will be out of natural scenes of the day, you won't even notice me taking pictures half the time. When we need to sneak away for your portraits (of you or you and your loved ones), I will offer guidance on the best angles and lighting. My laid-back personality helps people feel at ease, so the images look natural and effortless. The easiest way to forget about the cameras is to focus on each other during the day and shoot. I’ll remind you of that as often as you need me to.

Do you offer professional editing, and how will we receive
our final images?

Your final photos will be edited professionally in my unique style for color correction, lighting, and details. I also offer extended editing and retouching services to ensure everyone looks their best. However, my editing is very light and natural, so you don't have to worry about anyone not looking like themselves!

For your final image delivery, I will send you a link (this could be about 8-10 weeks after your wedding depending on the time of the year) to a private gallery where you can view and download your images. All final images will be edited in high-resolution and full color. I will also include several duplicates for you in black and white. Special gallery features allow you to share your pictures with family and friends, mark select photos as private, and print directly from the gallery.

Do you only photograph weddings?

No. I'm also available for portraits, commercial, and branding photo sessions. You can see some of that work here.

Do you give out raw (unedited) images?

Like most professional photographers, I do not share raw images since these don't accurately represent the essence captured on the day—or my work and brand. Edited photos will give you the best experience and a cohesive end result, so you don't have to worry about any inconsistencies in lighting or appearance in your pictures.

What are your COVID-19 guidelines and safety protocols?

I stay in accordance with local, state-wide, and federal regulations to ensure the safety of everyone involved in the photography process. I will update these policies and precautions as needed and as the situation changes. If you have any concerns or questions regarding my COVID-19 policies, please don't hesitate to message me.

Where are you based, and do you travel for weddings?
I am based in Monterey Bay, CA (right by the coast), and yes! I’d love to travel to your wedding or photoshoot destination! I can travel interstate or internationally – please tell me about your location (or even location ideas) when you reach out to me.

Should we do an engagement session?
I would definitely recommend for couples to do an engagement session as it is such a memorable event of the relationship, and the images from the shoot make great Save-the-Dates, or even to be displayed on the wedding day! My photography style is elegant and simplistic. I aim to capture not only the big moments of the day, but those special in-between moments, the raw emotions felt, and the small, often-overlooked details of the event (like the bouquet, the bride’s shoes, or a groom’s personalized cufflinks). My editorial background gives me a unique angle to do this in an authentic and intimate way.
